CleanBites is designed for low-friction label lookups. You can scan, search, and read ingredient information without creating an account.
Short scan retention
Anonymous scan sessions may be stored for up to 30 days to improve ingredient matching.
Photos stay private
Original label photos are never published in the app or shared as public ingredient records.
Data we use
Only what the product needs to work.
We use submitted information to answer searches, process scans, review ingredient requests, manage optional MCP access, and keep spam away from public forms.
- Search queries
- Used to return ingredient matches and improve search quality. They are not connected to accounts.
- Label scans
- Used to read ingredient text, match records, and debug matching quality for a limited period.
- Requests and submissions
- May include an email address only when you choose to provide one for follow-up updates.
- MCP accounts
- Store your email, a one-way password hash, session records, and one-way MCP token hashes. Raw MCP tokens are shown only when created.
- Bot protection
- Cloudflare Turnstile and Arcjet help protect forms and scan endpoints from abuse.
Your choices
You choose when to use an account.
Email is optional on ingredient requests and community submissions. Leave it blank if you do not want follow-up messages. An email and password are required only when registering for MCP access.
